Genetic Choir in het Glazen Huis

25 of April at 14.00
Concert of the Genetic Choir in the Glazenhuis - Amstelpark -
last day of the exhibition the Greenhouse Affects the Park.

Genetic Choir concerts attempt a kind of utopia: No rules are set, no songs prepared. The characteristic silence of the building (Het Glazen Huis) forms the basic ingredient for our music. From there, no sounds or silences are excluded or unwanted - everything is welcomed into the vocal rollercoaster garden of Genetic Choir compositions. By your mere presence and the subtleness of your ears, you will - together with us - determine the kind of music that will be performed.
The Genetic Choir sings instant composition concerts on various locations and in varying constellations. For the Grachtenfestival 2010 in Amsterdam - to give just one example - they sang in a rusty factory hall, big as a cathedral (picture above). The Choir is conceived and trained by Thomas Johannsen (www.thojoh.com), but there is no conductor and no pre-fixed musical score when the Choir is performing.
